Ann Giordano was inspired to make photographs by looking at family photo albums, watching home movies and writing down her dreams. Her images visually explore the narrative using symbolism, motion, color, shadow and light to capture the essence of the subject.
Since 2006 she has made camera-less images for the series, In My Courtyard. The Tosei Gallery in Tokyo presented Selections from the series, In My Courtyard as a solo exhibition in September 2013.
Photographs have also been exhibited at the Light Factory, San Francisco International Airport, James Danziger Gallery, Candace Perich Gallery and the Camera Club of New York. Work is represented in various private and corporate collections and a series of autoportraits is included in the New York Public Library Portrait Collection. Images have also been featured in Blind Spot, Time Capsule, Kit and Caboodle, LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph and PDN.
Ann lives and works in the New York City area.
