EXHIBITIONS: Selections from the series, IN MY COURTYARD - TOKYO
Thank you Mr. Takahashi for inviting me to Tokyo to exhibit my work, Marika Ryu for translating and Mr. Yoshi Higa for the introduction.
The images began when I lived in an old converted firehouse with a courtyard where the horses were once washed and fed. There were a few plants in the ground and window boxes, but mostly concrete. I watched plants grow, planted my own and experienced their and my personal transformation.
As plants grow and flowers bloom, so do people. When I need inspiration, I surround myself with wonderful people, flowers and plants and observe their growth and blossoming.
